Several More From CHS vs Rutherford Game …

Here are several more from the game this past weekend.  The first two are ones that I have already posted, but I have re-worked them using the Lucis Art Filter in Photoshop.  I like the different looks that you can achieve when you use the plug-in with other enhancements in Photoshop.  I do not see that many other photographers using the Lucis plug-in and I am surprised they do not use Photoshop to improve their work.  Most seem to just shoot and up-load … no enhancing, no retouching, no tonal adjusting, no color correcting … nothing but shoot and up-load.  So much for that rambling … here are the images … I hope you enjoy the enhancement …

I think that this image really gives you a feel of the crowd’s energy and how much fun these students are having at the game.  The straight shot is nice and colorful, but this really shows school spirit!  The next one is of the cheerleaders from Sacred Heart that were cheering at the game …

You can almost hear the girl’s cheering.  The next two are new images from the game.  The first is a side-line shot showing how exhausted the players are from the game and I thought that the gold color on their jerseys looks almost metallic.  Notice how the Lucis filter brings out the detail in the shadow areas …

And here is one from a play …

That is it for now, I still have a few more from this game that I will try to post later.  I hope you enjoy looking at these.  If you have any comments, good or bad, please let me hear them.  Thanks again for looking … Frank

Pensacola CHS Homecoming 2013 …

leave a comment »

Here are a handful of photos from the Pep Rally on Friday at school in the gym, to the football game at LeBeau-Gorecki Stadium Friday night ( congratulations on the win Coach Seibert and team ) and the Walk-Out of the Homecoming Court at half-time.  I am not going to try to identify or explain any of these images, since everyone already knows everyone involved … and besides, as Jack Benny used say – I just tell’em, I don’t explain’em.  Enjoy …

OK, that gives you an idea of the homecoming festivities so far.  These are just a few … I have made hundreds of images so far and it is going to take me a while to process these … they do not look like these out of the camera.  I have a site on Zenfolio where I am going to post all of them for everyone to view.  If anyone wants to purchase any, you can do so through this site, but it is all pretty self-explanatory.  Thanks again for looking and as usual, all comments are appreciated.  Please check back for more … I am going to the dance tonight and take some at walk-out … Frank

Pensacola Catholic High School Football Game on September 28, 2012 …

This past Friday night, September 28, Pensacola Catholic High School played Navarre and suffered their first loss of the year.  At halftime, the CHS Baseball team received their 2012 Championship Rings … So I went to take some photos of the ceremony and since I was there, made some photos of the game.  I never have professed to be a sport’s photographer … you have to be really lucky and you have to be in the right place at the right time.  Never seeming to be lucky and hardly ever am I at the right place at the right time, I feel that some of these football ball shots are not too bad.  I know that Sports Illustrated will never be calling, but I still enjoy capturing the action.  As usual, I do not know the players involved, well I do know that the quarterback is Cody Henry, but that is basically it, so I apologize in advance for not knowing the names of the runners or receivers.   I hope you enjoy a few of these …

It is hard to believe that CHS was held scoreless in this game against Navarre High School with action like this.  I hope you enjoyed the few that I posted here … now the Championship Ring Ceremony at half-time.  First up is Sister at the microphone and then Coach LaBounty offering a few words …

I thought that I would include one of just the table with the rings and the Florida State High School 4A Sport Trophy ( I am not sure of the exact title of the trophy, so I just called it that ).  The the players and their rings …

This is Coach LaBounty’s son Drew showing off his Championship Ring.  I hope that Drew does not mind me posting this photo … It is not everyday that you have a ” State Champion ” in your presence.  The whole team is just a great group of “Winners” and the entire coaching staff at Pensacola Catholic High School sure does an outstanding job with all of the kids that play all sports at CHS along with the Baseball Coaches.

Well, that is it for now.  I hope everyone enjoys this post … it is sort of different for me.  Usually I just put up one or two photos and write a few words just so I keep my name out there in the public eye.  If anyone has any comments, please feel free to post them … I am interested in what people think and have to say. Oh yea, if anyone knows someone at Sports Illustrated, please give them a “heads-up” to let them know what they are missing down here in the panhandle of Florida.  Thanks for looking … Frank
