Pensacola CHS Homecoming 2013 …

leave a comment »

Here are a handful of photos from the Pep Rally on Friday at school in the gym, to the football game at LeBeau-Gorecki Stadium Friday night ( congratulations on the win Coach Seibert and team ) and the Walk-Out of the Homecoming Court at half-time.  I am not going to try to identify or explain any of these images, since everyone already knows everyone involved … and besides, as Jack Benny used say – I just tell’em, I don’t explain’em.  Enjoy …

OK, that gives you an idea of the homecoming festivities so far.  These are just a few … I have made hundreds of images so far and it is going to take me a while to process these … they do not look like these out of the camera.  I have a site on Zenfolio where I am going to post all of them for everyone to view.  If anyone wants to purchase any, you can do so through this site, but it is all pretty self-explanatory.  Thanks again for looking and as usual, all comments are appreciated.  Please check back for more … I am going to the dance tonight and take some at walk-out … Frank

Pensacola Catholic High vs PHS Football Game …

with 2 comments

Here are a few from this past Friday night’s football game between CHS and PHS.  A close, hard-fought game with CHS winning 17-15 over Pensacola High School.  I am not much of a sports photographer, but I like to take my camera and see what I can get … the old saying holds true for me in sports photography – ” if you cannot shoot’em good, shoot a lot! “.
All I can say to that is amen brother …  A few more of the crowd, the cheerleaders and the dancers …

Most of my football photos were not that sharp and had a lot of movement or they were not in focus, but my crowd photos are passable.  I doubt that I will have Sports Illustrated calling me anytime soon, but I enjoyed the game and had a nice time, and that is what it all is about, isn’t it?  I will leave you with a few more crowd shots.  Let me know what you think … Thanks for looking, Frank …

I wonder if they are allowed to show up for school looking like this?  Thanks again …

Space Station … Pensacola Beach ?

with 2 comments

This is a view of the 360 Observation Wheel out on Pensacola Beach, even though it looks as if it could be part of the Space Lab somewhere above earth or where ever.   Here are a couple more …

If you are out on the beach and have nothing to do, it is worth the $15 for several spins on the wheel.  Pam even enjoyed it and she is not one much for heights.  Thanks for looking and ” Beam me up, Scotty ” … Frank

Pensacola National Museum of Aviation …

These are several more panoramas made with my iPhone.  Here is a link to the National Naval Air Museum in Pensacola aboard the Naval Air Station.  If you ever get to Pensacola, you need to go and tour this place … not only to see a history of aviation, but there is no charge to enter the museum.  Here is one more pano …

The bottom panorama is a little more abstract over the top one, however you still get a feel for how large this building is and all of the planes that it holds.  Thanks for looking …

Antique Cars …

These Model ” A ” Fords were sitting in an Arkansas Welcome Station right across the Missouri state line in a little place called Mammoth Spring.  There must have been 30 or 40 of them in the parking lot.  They all met here and were having a rally to somewhere in Arkansas.  A lot of them were also dressed in period driving outfits that made them really look interesting.  Below is one of the meters that sits on top of the radiator …

This photo does not show the sharpness and the crispness of the writing on the meter that a 300 DPI image would show, since this image has been re-sized for the internet.  Could you imagine driving / riding in one of these from Pensacola to Atlanta ? But on the other hand, after taking a horse and buggy for the same trip, this Model “A ” would like being in a limo.   Thanks for looking …

Tupelo Mississippi … Home of Elvis … the Real ” King ” …

leave a comment »

OK … another iPhone photograph. Flew out to Nebraska last week and the only photos I made were in Tupelo Mississippi. At the home / birthplace of Elvis – The King … the real king, not LeBron James of the Heat “King”. You can almost see Elvis, Gladys and Vernon sitting out front in that porch swing. Just thinking about it gets me ” All Shook-Up ” … could not resist throwing that one in. The next image of the church that Elvis attended was with my Canon 40D …

This is supposed to the the first church that Elvis ever attended in Tupelo Mississippi. You could go inside the church ( I did not ), but you could not go inside the house … you were allowed to sit in the swing, however ( I did not ). This place – “Hallowed Ground” to all you Elvis worshipers -is located just several blocks off the interstate and a new museum is in the process of being built to house more Elvis “stuff” … if you can believe that there is more “stuff” that has not been seen yet. Below is the emblem on a 1939 Plymouth that took the Presley family to Memphis … made again with the iPhone camera:

Look how sharp this image is … no close-up filter used ( I did buy one, but like the iPhone tripod, I have not used it yet ), just hand-held close to the emblem and the cropped in Photoshop. These are basically all of the photos that I took on the trip back from Nebraska … there are a few of some Model-A cars that I made in Hardy Arkansas, but I do not know if I will bother with any of them. Thanks for looking … let me hear what you think about anything … here or any place else!

Family Beach Photographs 2012 …

leave a comment »

Above is Pam and Jenna with Payton on the beach.  Payton was not in great spirits, but I was able to capture a few of her “better” moments.   She sure loves being with her momma and her “Ya-Ya”.  Below is one by herself and then one with Lukas.

And finally, one of Lukas by himself on the beach … the light was not the best here, but I just wanted to show how grown he has gotten.

I will post some others with the rest of the family when I get them worked up … Thanks for looking .
