Christmas Lights at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Bellview …

Main Street Exterior Yes _ Sat _ 25 Nov 14 _ SFW

How many of you out there can remember when Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Bellview used to decorate with all of the lights for the holidays?  I went out there many times to make photos for Father Licari and then Father Gray.  This is the only image that I can put my hands on out of all the hundreds that I had taken out there through the years.  I know that they are around here somewhere and I will have to keep on looking.  The above shot was looking down Main Street where the Round-Up was held and you see the “Grandview Hotel ” at the end of the street.  If I run across some of the interior of the church, I will post them … it was really a site to see!  Thanks for looking and I hope that everyone will have a safe and happy Thanksgiving … Frank

  1. I remember St. Annes very well! The beautiful lights (free hot cocoa) the inside of the church with all of the candles and also the roundup. It was a very important part of my childhood. I wish they would bring it back 😦

    • Tracy … Thanks for commenting. I think that the main reason for not putting up the Christmas Lights at St Anne’s Catholic Church in Bellview is that the parishioners that put up all of the decorations and lights have gotten older and since it is all volunteer, the labor force is not there like it used to be. I am also think that the cost to power all of the lights has got to be astronomical and donations from visitors must have fallen off. I am sure it is a combination of a lot of factors and not just one. The sad thing is that everything is changing and we can never go back to the way things were decades ago. I know that it is missed by everyone. I have some more views of the area and the church’s interior that I plan to put up in the future, so please check back. Have a safe and happy holidays … Frank
