Several More From Ireland …

Inch Strand_RTP_27 Nov 13 SFW

Here are two that I pulled out and altered the color a little to make them more saturated.  The one above was taken in an area called ” The Inch Strand ” on the east side of Ireland above Dingle.  I believe that the Pacific Ocean is on the other side of the  mountain range.  This is a bay and even though it was in July, it was still 50 or 55 degrees and there had been a few surfers out in the chop earlier.  One more …

This is the ” Ring of Dingle ” which is not as popular as the ” Ring of Kerry “.  The ring goes only 30 miles or so, but the road being so narrow and you have so many sheep, walkers, bikers, etc, it takes hours to make the round trip.  Besides, the view is so gorgeous, you are always stopping the car and getting out to look at the scenery.  The image above was brightened and I also increased the saturation some.  I made several thousand images, both digital and film, on the trip and I keep going back and finding things that interest me now that did not then.  Thanks for looking and please check back … Frank

Cliff Dwellers 1_Tex Overlay_27 Nov 13_ SFW

This first image is one that my father made back in the mid-1950’s, that I had posted on my father’s blog a while back.  It was just a straight image that I had cleaned-up.  I just thought it was an interesting image … I am not exactly sure of where this is out West.  I think that I just titled it something like ” Cliff or Cave Dwellings “.  All I did was add a texture overlay and added a color-tint to the image  The image below is one that I made over in Jackson Square in the French Quarter thirty years or so ago.  I did the same thing, but I also added a selective blur to bring your focus back to the statue of Andrew Jackson.

Irish Castle Mounted and Framed …

leave a comment »

I just thought that I would show you the finished product.  I plan on producing a new series from our trip to Ireland several years back.  This is just the first style that I have selected … I plan one or two others and then I will decide on the look for this series.  I am interested in your comments, so please do not be shy … I am pretty thick-skinned at this stage of the game.  Thanks again for looking and please check back.

One more thing … I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!  I am busy with other things now, so it might be a week or two until I post again.  I do have several weddings that I want to post some images from and I am trying to get them ready to put up.  Thanks again … Frank

Blarney Castle 1_Adj 2_Tex 3 _ RTP_ 24 Nov 13 SFW

The above image is one I made with my Hasselblad on T-Max 400 B&W film.  Then I scanned the negative and worked it up in Photoshop.  I  think I posted a straight scan of this image in an earlier post several years ago.  I am going back and trying to do a some new things after looking at some other photographer’s work recently.  The castle above is the Blarney Castle and yes, I did kiss the Blarney Stone, but I had  ” the gift of gab ” thirty or forty years ago.   Maybe it helped, maybe it didn’t, however, I did not fly across the Atlantic to pass up the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone.  I cannot identify the castle below.  We were driving down the road and saw it and pulled in.  I would guess that it is six or seven hundred years old….

If you have any comments about the images or about Ireland in general, let me hear them.  Thanks for looking and please check back … Frank

Seville Quarter …

Rosie's _ Color_RTP_5x4 _ SFW

This was an exterior shot that I made outside of Seville Quarter for a rack card back in the early 1980’s.  I lined up a row of flash units to illuminate the front of the building …you can see one of the flashes on the old car to the back of the image.  I am sure that Seville Quarter has updated their rack cards now, but I always thought that this was an interesting shot.   Too bad that digital was not around in the 80’s when I made this shot, it would have been a lot simpler to create.  Thanks for looking and if have a need for any commercial work, please think of me … Frank

IMG_5027 King and Queen _ SFW

I have finally posted all the photos that I made at the Homecoming Pep-Rally, the Walk-Out at the game, and the Walk-Out at the Homecoming Dance.  Also, I have posted the photos from the games that I attended … Arnold, Rutherford and Milton.  I did not bother putting any images in any chronological order in each of their respective folders, so you will just have to look through all them to find what you are looking for.  If you do not see something that you thought that I might have photographed, please contact me and I can check on it.  I have taken close to 1,500 images and I do not post anything that I have not corrected / adjusted, so obviously, a lot I did not bother with.  Either the focus was not sharp, eyes were shut, mouths were open, etc, etc.  Here is a link to my Zenfolio site.  Please contact me if you have any questions or comments … Thanks again, Frank
