Blarney Castle 2_SFW_FHP_6 Jan 13

Here are a few more from our trip to Ireland back in 2005.  I have posted a few already in several posts.  I do not believe that I have posted these exact images before.  The one above is the Blarney Castle in Blarney … the funny thing ( to me ) is that this place is not out in the middle of no where, the town has grown up around the castle.  So in back of me would be a street with a row of businesses, not right directly in back, but maybe a block or so away.  And the castle is just a shell, there is no “interior” to speak of … this is not Downton Abbey.  And yes, we climbed to the top and I kissed the Blarney Stone, but Pam refused to.  You have to hang over the ledge backward and then pull yourself up to kiss the stone.  There is someone there to hold your ankles so you do not fall from four stories or so.  The next image is from a place called “Cove” ( that is my spelling not the Gaelic that I cannot remember …

I do not remember much about this photo.  We just walked around these towns and I just took whatever interested me and of course, I did not bother to take notes about any of this.  The last is one that I made in Dingle …

I think I made 1500 or 1600 digital images and I took my Hasselblad with 50mm lens and I took 20 120 B&W rolls of film.  I posted before how many images I made and I need to go back and see if they match.  You know your mind gets a little foggy as the years roll on.  I hope to do a couple of Blurb books this year … Ireland for me and I am working to put something together on my father’s old photographs, but we will see what the new year brings.  Thanks for looking and let me know what you think … Frank
