St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Pensacola …

This photo was done back in the 80’s, the girl was a CHS student dressed as a nun for a yearbook photo … this was not the one used in the Charisma ( CHS’s yearbook ) and I cannot even remember what I did for them.  I thought the girl dressed as a nun would make an interesting pictorial style portrait, so I found the cross and got the kneeling bench.  I asked her to kneel and look to the side.  I lit her with a single Speeotron head with a grid to focus the light on her face.  I believe I used my RB67 with a wide-angle lens to show the stain glass windows.  I printed a 20×24 and hung it up in my old studio and it generated a lot of comments … mostly ” who is the nun ” and ” I do not recognize her, is she from this diocese “.   I cannot remember too many comments about how dramatic the photograph is or what a sensitive portrait it is of the  “nun” … and I had the portrait hanging up for 4 or 5 years!  You never can tell … thanks for looking.
