Frank Hardy Photography Down at Present Time…

with 7 comments

The site ” ” that I have had up for the last two years has been down for the past several months because I did not renew the domain name in a timely enough fashion.  My real problem is that I cannot get anyone at Blogger to respond to my emails and help me get it renewed.  I have over 225 posts from the past two years and it has been extremely slow building up viewers and I would hate to lose them and the site.  The main problem is that I cannot move the domain name somewhere else because it is already registered … to me!  But I cannot get Blogger to let me renew it or even respond to my inquiries by email, forget even finding a phone number to call and talk to a live person.  Anyone with any suggestion, please let me hear them … I am getting desperate!  I have included several photos for people to see what I am talking about.

As you can see, I have posted photos from Brenda Lee to Cochise to Sacred Heart Nursing Graduates to the Coke Cola Show taken at WEAR TV Station on this site.  All photographs that my father had made from his fifty years in the photography business.  And I have hundreds more that I would like to post and comment on if I could only get the domain name re-registered.  Any help is appreciated … Thanks

  1. Frank,

I’m a regular viewer of your photo blog FrankHardyMadeMyPhotographs with so many wonderful Pensacola photos from the 50’s, and I was sorry to see the site go down.

If you can email me, I think I may be able to help you with information about how to reclaim your domain name. I’d really like to see the blog working again.

I tried to email some information to you about reclaiming the expired domain name, but the email I sent to the address on bounced back to me as undeliverable (an unrecognized email account).

    • Old Prof –

Greetings … Thanks for the email and the offer. I have decided to start a new blog on wordpress of my father’s photography, since getting the old one up and running again was turning out to be a HUGE headache. What I have decided to do is to start a new one with wordpress … I have decided to call it: . .. Please note the “Two” on the end. I am going to start from scratch and the work my way back to where I was before, along with adding new posts along the way. I have been wanting to change it from Blogger to WordPress for sometime now, mainly because the images are larger and I like the layout better. I hate to start all over because I had over 230 posts with the other blog, but I am so disgusted with Google and Blogger and how difficult they make renewing your site if you miss their assigned deadline … it is just so aggravating and I have wasted so many hours trying to get this rectified, I am just ready to move on and start new. I have been busy lately and it is going to take me another week or so to get posts on the site, but I have already bought the domain and registered it. I hopefully will get some of my readers back when I start posting again … I was surprised of all the places from around the world that people were logging in ffrom … Russia, Iran, the Netherlands, a lot from Canada and England, etc, etc.

Thanks for offering again … I am not a computer person or a typist … my only interest is Photoshop and photography. If you are from Pensacola or the area, let me know and I will meet you and buy you a cup a coffee. If you have any suggestions that could help me get my readership up, I am all ears. I have not done anything to promote it and everyone has just stumbled across it, but I would like to build my readership up a good bit without having to pay for hits / advertising … I am all ears –

Greetings – Just a short note to let you know that I started a new blog:
It is going to take me a while to re-post all of the 220 some odd old posts, but I plan on doing it, plus adding new things I have worked on. Thanks again for the email and the offer to help me … Write me if you have any comments or questions …

  2. I have a book my uncle left me from Pensacola Hi 1924. I could not find your dads name. To early I guess.
The book and ads are neet. I enjoyed your pictures. I am 68 and I recall a lot of this.

    • My father was born in 1915, so he would have only been nine at the time. He, his mother and brother did not move to Garden Street in Pensacola until 1925. He attended PK Young School when he first moved he. He graduated from PHS in either 1933 or 34 … for some reason I want to say 1934. Thanks for asking and commenting … Frank

  3. I truly love your blog.. Great colors & theme.

Did you build this amazing site yourself? Please reply back as I’m planning to create my own personal blog and want to learn where you got this from or what the theme is named. Kudos!

    • Thanks Norberto … All I did was just looked around and saw what other people had created. There is no secret to any of this and none of this is something that you could not do. Just spend some time and see what other people are doing. Find a blog that you like and then find a way to convert it into something that will fit your needs. You can figure it out. Good luck and please check back … Frank
